ThinkWell is working to build country capacity around the generation and use of cost evidence for sustainable and predictable financing for immunization
In 2017, ThinkWell completed a systematic review of the current evidence base on immunization delivery costs (IDC), which built upon previous efforts, but took a more comprehensive approach to collecting up-to-date IDC data not restricted to a particular vaccine, delivery strategy, type of cost analysis, or setting. From the systematic review, ThinkWell developed the Immunization Delivery Cost Catalogue (IDCC) and companion products.
The ICAN is comprised of four-member countries – India, Indonesia, Tanzania, and Vietnam – with country teams that include health economist researchers and immunization managers and planners from Ministries of Health. ThinkWell and John Snow, Inc. (JSI) are facilitating the ICAN to encourage knowledge sharing and co-production of effective strategies for generation and policy translation of cost evidence.
