CEGA’s Cost Transparency Initiative (CTI) and associated Costing Community of Practice (CCoP) are host its inaugural “Cost-ober” webinar series including virtual panel discussions with front-line policymakers, donors, journal editors, researchers, and practitioners regarding the role of cost evidence in boosting the policy relevance of impact evaluation research. The webinar series will be held in October and November 2020.
The webinar series will consist of 3 parts:
Part I: Publishing Cost Evidence
This panel will engage journal editors in a discussion of the benefits of and barriers to publishing cost-effectiveness and cost-benefit analyses alongside impact evaluations of development interventions.

Part II: How Do Donors Think About Cost Evidence?
Panelists will discuss the demand for cost evidence within their own organizations and speak to the experience of institutionalizing cost data collection and analysis.

Part III: Policymaker Demand for Cost Evidence: Who Needs It, In What Format, and When?
This panel will ask frontline policymakers serving in government ministries (or in adjacent institutions) to provide perspective on how and when they use evidence of program costs and cost-effectiveness for decision-making.
