The Society for Benefit-Cost Analysis is conducting a workshop on Valuing Changes in Health and Longevity. The workshop will discuss the concepts and the methods used for valuation in benefit-cost analysis, focusing on estimates of individual willingness to pay (WTP).
It will also illustrate how measures like estimates of quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) or disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) and estimates of the averted direct and indirect costs of illness (COI) are applied, including in guidances. The instructors will also focus on estimates applicable in the contexts of inter’ contexts of interest, discussing common defaults and practices in different countries and different policy areas.
