The IVB Department’s mission is ‘To promote the health and well-being of all people, in all countries, by advancing the impact of vaccines and immunization programs through partnership and leadership; policies and guidance; evidence and research.’ IVB’s work is aligned with the WHO 13th Global Program of Work (GPW13), with a central focus to drive impact in countries, ensure healthy lives and promote well-being at all ages.
The WHO is looking for an experienced candidate to perform as a technical officer under the IVB department. Under the overall supervision of Team Lead, Value of Vaccines, Modeling, and Economics, the Technical Officer shall perform essential duties and responsibilities such as:

Provide countries and regions with technical assistance in identifying and formulating key policy questions for COVID-19 vaccine deployment and implementing modeling and economic analyses on country-specific vaccination scenarios to inform strategic planning

Coordinate closely with regional and country focal points to identify appropriate partner organizations, networks, and modeling groups at the global or local level and facilitate effective working relationships

Manage the IA2030 vaccine impact modeling project to generate global and regional estimates of deaths averted due to vaccination for IA 2030 as part of the Monitoring & Evaluation framework

Develop and implement project plans for expanding the scope of work for updated target setting in 2026; monitor developments in the field of infectious disease and vaccine modeling research; liaise with partner organizations, research institutions, and other key stakeholders.

Contribute to communication strategies, including by preparing reports, peer-reviewed publications, policy briefs, and data products accessible to a range of audiences and users
