The Gavi Secretariat is releasing a new application kit reflecting the emphasis of the Gavi 2021-2025 strategy on equity as its organizing principle, with an acute focus on reaching zero-dose and under-immunized children with immunization, which is aligned with the Immunization Agenda 2030.
New National Immunization Strategy (NIS) Guidelines are also planned to be available by the end of July 2021. Designed to guide countries towards more informed, owned, and sustainable decision-making, the Guidelines provide step-by-step support and easy access to supplemental decision tools
Gavi has also released the updated Vaccine Funding Guidelines summarising key aspects countries should consider when requesting new vaccine support from Gavi. Recognizing the multiple effects the COVID-19 epidemic has on vaccine programs around the world, Gavi agreed to open a supplementary application round to allow countries to request new support from Gavi for the introduction of vaccines into routine schedules or a campaign
