The Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is offering a course titled “Benefit-Cost Analysis: Valuing Life and Health” as part of its continuing education program.
The course will be held online from September 19-23, 2022. Lisa Robinson, Deputy Director at the Center for Health Decision Science, will be joined by Dale Whittington (University of North Carolina), Neal Fann (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency), and Brad Wong (Mettalytics), each of whom will be discussing case study examples from their work.
The course will cover the basic benefit-cost analysis framework and introduce the approaches used to value changes in health and longevity, including the value per statistical life (VSL) concept and application. The course is designed for practitioners, scholars, policymakers, and other stakeholders who want to increase their understanding of benefit-cost analysis and its application to environmental, health, and safety policies globally.
