The 15th IHEA World Congress on Health Economics will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, on July 8-12, 2023. Registration will open in March.
The Immunization Economics Special Interest Group (SIG) is kicking off the conference by organizing a two-day pre-congress session on July 8-9. The session will bring together early-career to seasoned researchers from academic institutions, NGOs, and multinational organizations to exchange knowledge on the latest research methods and approaches in immunization costing, financing, economics, and decision-making.
Based on a survey conducted among our community of practice, the following themes have been proposed for the agenda:
-
Costing studies: methods, practical challenges, tools, and specific applications such as C19 vaccine programs
-
Value of vaccines & building an investment case: cost-effectiveness, cost of illness, economic burden of VPDs, return on investment, HTAs for immunization
-
Advancing methods: integration of immunization with PHC, delivery strategy mix, cost of reaching zero-dose children, costing system improvements
-
Immunization financing: funding flow analysis, budget/expenditure tracking, ensuring financial sustainability
-
Use of evidence: using cost and impact estimates for investment decisions and resource mobilization
Stay tuned for more updates on the pre-congress and congress as we will also put out a call for poster submissions.
