The Economics & Finance team at the International Vaccine Access Center (IVAC) is seeking a Research Associate (Health Economist) with high proficiency in R programming (and R Shiny) to join their work assessing the economic cost of vaccine-preventable diseases and pushing the boundaries of equity measurement and integration to policy in global health.
IVAC is part of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, with a mandate to accelerate global access to life-saving vaccines. IVAC applies rigorous science in epidemiology, policy, and economics to build knowledge and support for the value of vaccines.

ECONOMIC ANALYSIS

Manage the development and daily operations of economic research projects

Liaise with a multidisciplinary team to ensure deliverables are met in a timely fashion

Assist in data entry and data cleaning and in the conduct of analyses

Use existing data to support research, publications and develop technical reports based on current research
-
Perform literature reviews to support current projects and abstracting data from published papers
-
Manage, track, organize, review incoming data from field study sites and published literature
-
Manage database, data cleaning and exploratory data analysis
-
Use existing Excel and R-based models to estimate vaccine economic benefits to run scenarios based on a variety of inputs

Develop presentations that effectively use model outputs to impact stakeholders

Create visually appealing tables and figures for presentations and manuscripts

Draft presentations, manuscripts and reports with support from PIs
PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND COMMUNICATIONS

Serve as management and technical focal points of various economics and finance-related studies within IVAC
-
Serve as point of contact for day-to-day project-related queries, including internal team members, project collaborators, and external stakeholders

Interact with project team members to ensure well-organized and efficient development of project deliverables and management of project tasks

Organize and lead meetings, conference calls, or other communications between team members
-
Interface with financial management teams to facilitate budget and personnel management
-
Respond to ad hoc project management and analytical requests as needed
