On June 23-24, 2025, the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) and the Network of Impact Evaluation Researchers in Africa (NIERA) will co-host the 13th annual Africa Evidence Summit, focusing on “Better Data for Decision-Making.” The Africa Evidence Summit advances knowledge about how to alleviate poverty in sub-Saharan Africa and fosters unique collaborations between scholars, practitioners, and policymakers.

The Africa Evidence Summit will kickstart a week of evidence-focused events taking place in Nairobi, Kenya. This Nairobi Evidence Week combines the Africa Evidence Summit and the 2025 Economic Science Association (ESA) Africa Conference hosted by Busara. The events will take place consecutively from June 23-27, with the goal of advancing global knowledge, building partnerships, and showcasing innovations in inclusive research, evidence-informed policy, and practice. You can learn more about the Nairobi Evidence Week here and register for the Summit above.

Call for Speakers (due February 13)

The Summit welcomes all topics related to development economics (including health, agriculture, climate, gender, conflict, governance, and work & education).

  • There is a preference for studies that use rigorous impact evaluation methods or tools from data science, but all studies that have the potential to inform policy will be considered.
  • Both African scholars and non-African scholars are welcome to apply; however, we will reserve a portion of the agenda for African scholars.

Call for Poster Presenters (due February 13)

There will be two poster sessions at the Summit. Presenters will deliver informal presentations to interested audience members. This is a great opportunity for networking and amplifying your research or program.
