WHO Call for Nominations for SAGE Working Group on Pertussis Vaccines

The WHO Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) on Immunization is seeking nominations for technical experts to join its Working Group on Pertussis Vaccines. This group will provide guidance on key issues related to pertussis vaccine use and policy. WHO is particularly looking for professionals with expertise in areas such as public health in low- and middle-income countries, pertussis epidemiology, infectious disease immunology, microbiology, maternal immunization, and vaccinology focused on pertussis-containing vaccines.

Additional relevant fields include immunization programme planning and implementation, mathematical modelling, vaccine safety, and health economics.

Unitaid launches new funding opportunity to support cost-effective and impactful rollout of lenacapavir in sub-Saharan Africa

Deadline to submit a proposal is 15 August 2025.

Unitaid is inviting organizations to submit proposals for innovative, scalable delivery approaches to support the equitable rollout of lenacapavir—a groundbreaking, twice-yearly injectable HIV prevention tool—in sub-Saharan Africa. With the goal of reaching populations most at risk, such as adolescent girls, young women, and other underserved communities, this funding opportunity seeks projects that align with national introduction plans, demonstrate measurable impact, and optimize cost-effectiveness and community engagement. Building on prior investments and partnerships, Unitaid is driving a comprehensive strategy to ensure affordable access to lenacapavir and accelerate its integration into HIV programs at scale.

Executive Director – International Health Economics Association (IHEA)

Deadline for application is 1 September 2025, 5 pm BST  

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Drive the execution of IHEA’s strategic plan, identify and develop new initiatives to support members, and provide oversight to Special Interest Groups and initiatives such as the mentoring and fellowship programs and awards.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of IHEA’s biennial congress, including site selection, coordination with the scientific committee, and logistical oversight of pre-congress sessions.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations in collaboration with the association management team, including membership systems, communications, and technology tools.
  • Ensure strong governance practices, support the work of the Board and committees, manage the organization’s budget and finances, oversee audits, and support fundraising efforts.

Senior Manager, Maternal, Child Health and Nutrition – Africa at CIFF

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead high-quality research and analysis to inform strategic objectives and operational planning
  • Engage with governments, donors, and partners to gather insights and shape MCH+N strategic priorities
  • Support the development of innovative and sustainable MCH+N financing mechanisms in Africa
  • Design, develop, and manage a pipeline of integrated investments aligned with CIFF’s Africa strategy
  • Monitor programme performance, identify issues, and coordinate timely problem-solving with partners
  • Drive collaboration across internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance programme integration and impact
