All-country evidence synthesis

Ms. Laura Boonstoppel is a Program Director and senior health economist at ThinkWell, leading its immunization economics portfolio, which spans a range of global and country-level immunization costing and financing projects, and evidence-to-policy work, as well as the ImmunizationEconomics.org community of practice. Her work has included research on the economics of reaching zero-dose children, efficiency analysis of integrated campaigns, accelerating cervical cancer elimination goals through economic evidence and advocacy, a multi-country study of COVID-19 vaccine delivery, various other immunization costing studies, and the development of methods and tools for immunization costing. Her previous experience includes positions at the Clinton Health Access Initiative, Gavi, and PATH.

TODI MENGISTU, Gavi

Dr. Tewodaj (Todi) Mengistu is a Senior Programme Officer in the Measurement and Strategic Information team at Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. In her role, she leads data and analysis for strategic decision-making and reporting, with a focus on robust estimates of the health and economic impact of Gavi-supported vaccines. Prior to Gavi, she worked at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a health economist with the Division of Global HIV/AIDS evaluating the effectiveness of delivery services for HIV prevention, care, and treatment in countries with high HIV burden.

Carol Kamya is a health economist at the Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration and the Menzies School of Health Research. Her work focuses on economic evaluations in immunization, malaria, HIV, and maternal and child health. She brings an interdisciplinary background in health economics and public health, aiming to integrate economic insights into infectious disease research across Africa and the Asia-Pacific regions.

LOGAN BRENZEL, independent consultant

Logan Brenzel is a health economist with more than 35 years of worldwide experience providing policy and strategic advice to governments and global health partners, including Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance; leading, designing and managing complex multi-country implementation research on the cost, cost-effectiveness, financing and sustainability of PHC interventions including immunization; coordinating and leading multi-partner engagements; and building capacity of country counterparts. Logan has supported countries in areas such as health systems strengthening; results-based financing; resource tracking; transition from donor support; and aid-effectiveness in her work with the Gates Foundation, the World Bank, the US Agency for International Development, and John Snow, Inc. Logan has a PhD from the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health, and a Master’s degree from the Harvard University School of Public Health. She is a graduate of Stanford University. Logan currently is an independent consultant based in Paris, France.

SYED MUHAMMAD ALI TURAB, PHC Global

Dr. Syed Muhammad Ali Turab is a medical doctor and a Public Health professional with expertise in Immunization and vaccinology. He is the Director Global Health at PHC Global, a firm aiming to improve Human Health by testing and scaling solutions to last mile. He has the experience of designing and scaling electronic immunization registries; determining effectiveness of incentives on vaccine coverage; costing and mapping of funding flows of essential services for immunization and primary health care.
