GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, is a public-private partnership committed to saving children’s lives and protecting people’s health by increasing equitable use of vaccines in lower-income countries. In December 2020, the Gavi Board approved a new approach to Middle-Income Countries (MICs) for preventing and mitigating backsliding in vaccine coverage in former Gavi-eligible countries and drive the sustainable introductions of key missing vaccines in former- and select never-Gavi-eligible middle-income countries.
The PM will bring knowledge of immunization and development issues, be proactive in driving forward measurement, monitoring, and learning for the approach, and support remaining strategy/policy development to enable the successful performance of the MICs Approach.
