 Mounting evidence suggests that cognitive ability may be a better predictor of education and employment outcomes than educational attainment and school enrollment. VoVRN researchers perform a systematic review and meta-analysis of evidence in studies that examine the relationship between cognitive ability, educational outcomes, and economic outcomes across LMICS. They suggest that investment into early cognitive development, through interventions like childhood vaccination and in-utero nutrition, could yield long-term returns to education and income for individuals, as well as the broader economy in LMICs.
