Home > Costing tool for mass vaccination sites released by UNICEF

Mass vaccination, or high-throughput, sites have been used in several countries for rapidly scaling up delivery of COVID-19 vaccines to target populations. UNICEF have developed a template to aid budgeting for introducing and deploying COVID-19 vaccines through these mass vaccination/high-throughput sites. This tool can:

  • Provide insight on approximately how much a site will cost to reach target vaccination goals

  • Support COVID-19 vaccination costing to facilitate dialogue with stakeholders around funding

  • Be beneficial for resource mobilization, budgeting and delivery strategy refinement and optimization

The template captures both the set-up and monthly recurrent costs of running sites, and generates a total budget and budget per dose broken down by different cost categories. You can download the template in either English or French below, and a live video demo can be viewed here. For any comments or questions please contact Kelsey Vaughan at kvaughan@unicef.org.
