Project HOPE is hiring a Health Economics Advisor in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The role will support the Malaria Vaccine Modeling and Evaluation Project, which aims to generate evidence on the health impact, feasibility, and cost-effectiveness of malaria prevention strategies, including the potential introduction of the R21/Matrix-M™ malaria vaccine in Ethiopia. The project is implemented in collaboration with the Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) and the Ministry of Health Ethiopia.

The Health Economic Advisor will:

  • Lead cost-effectiveness and budget impact analyses related to malaria vaccine introduction.
  • Support development of economic models linked to epidemiological projections.
  • Collect and analyze cost data for malaria interventions and vaccine delivery strategies.
  • Contribute to reports, policy briefs, and stakeholder engagement activities.

Qualifications required:

  • Master’s or PhD in Health Economics, Economics, Public Health, or related field.
  • 8–12 years of experience in health economics and economic evaluation.
  • Experience in cost-effectiveness analysis and economic modeling.
  • Familiarity with infectious diseases and vaccine economics preferred.
